I'm working on a baby blanket for a friend who is having a little one at the end of the year. Coyote Mama and I have made two previous blankets for her older twin kiddos like the ones here from Yarnspirations.
It's one of those deceptively not-so-easy patterns. When I started this the second time around, I thought to myself, "This isn't so hard! Why was I dreading it?" It's a slow burn. It'll happen.
After the 4th time of the MK row, using the Two Stitch Gather stitch, you start to question your sanity. Do I really want to do this? Is this really so important to my friend that I use the same pattern? No - but she asked for it, and I adore her and her lovely family, so I'm keep on keeping on.
In the linked video is the slanted stitches that veer to the right. That way lies insanity. If you mess up two rows below it, you have to rip up 161 stitches of knit and tink back to the problem area. Don't get me started on how many rows I've had to rip out.
So, if you need me any time soon, I'll be here knitting this beast of a blanket (in dog-day August weather) and pulling my hair out. Remind me next time to chose an easier pattern if the babies are twins.
